About the Distillery
Buffalo Trace Distillery, formerly known as the George T. Stagg Distillery, is one of the oldest continuously operating distilleries in the United States. It was established in 1787 and has a legacy of producing high-quality bourbon and other spirits.
How this product is made
Milling: The grains are ground into a coarse powder, known as the “”mash bill,”” which serves as the base for the whiskey.
Mashing: The mash bill is mixed with water in large vats, and enzymes are added to convert the starches into fermentable sugars.
Fermentation: The mixture, now known as “mash,” is fermented with yeast in fermentation tanks. During fermentation, the sugars are converted into alcohol, creating a liquid known as “distiller’s beer.”
Distillation: The distiller’s beer is distilled in copper stills to separate the alcohol from the remaining impurities, resulting in “new make” whiskey.
Aging: The newly made whiskey is aged in new charred oak barrels for a minimum of several years. The aging process allows the whiskey to develop its character, flavors, and color as it interacts with the wood.”

Aromas: Pleasant and inviting, with hints of caramel, vanilla, and toffee, along with notes of oak and spice.
Palate: Smooth and full-bodied, with flavors of caramel, butterscotch, baking spices, and a subtle fruitiness.
Finish: Lingering and warm, with a gentle spiciness and a touch of sweetness.
