Rémy Martin VSOP is a highly regarded cognac that represents the house’s commitment to quality and craftsmanship. About the Distillery
Rémy Martin is one of the most prestigious and respected cognac houses in the world. It is located in the Cognac region of France and is renowned for its dedication to excellence in cognac production.
How this product is made
Grapes and Wine: The cognac starts with the selection and harvesting of grapes, typically from the Ugni Blanc variety. The grapes are pressed to obtain grape juice, which is then fermented into wine.
Distillation: The wine is distilled twice in traditional copper pot stills to create eaux-de-vie. These eaux-de-vie have higher alcohol content and distinct flavor characteristics.
Aging: The eaux-de-vie are aged in French oak barrels, known as limousin oak, which imparts unique flavors and allows the cognac to develop its complexity and character over time. The aging process for Rémy Martin VSOP exceeds the minimum requirement of four years.
Blending: The master blender at Rémy Martin carefully selects and blends different eaux-de-vie from various barrels to create the consistent and signature flavor profile of Rémy Martin VSOP.
Bottling: Once the blending process is complete, the cognac is brought to the desired bottling strength and bottled for distribution.
