About this bottle
San Felipe Oak Malbec from Rutini Wines is a Wine Box best seller. The grapes come from the winery’s oldest vineyards at Maipú, close to the Andes mountains. The warm climate results in jammy flavours and a bold, fruit-forward wine.
Following malolactic fermentation the winemaker matures the wine with oak for 7 months before bottling; that is to say, half in new American oak and half in 2nd and 3rd use French oak. This imparts complexity and structure while smoothing the tannins.
