Bacardi Limited is one of the largest privately held spirits companies in the world, known for its diverse portfolio of rums and other alcoholic beverages. It was founded in Santiago de Cuba in 1862 and has since become an iconic brand in the spirits industry.
How this product is made
Bacardi Reserva Ocho Rum is made using high-quality sugarcane molasses. The production process involves the following key steps:
Fermentation: The sugarcane molasses is fermented using yeast to convert the sugars into alcohol, creating a liquid known as “wash.”
Distillation: The wash is then distilled to separate alcohol from other components, producing a clean and clear spirit.
Aging: The distilled rum is aged in oak barrels for a minimum of 8 years. During this aging process, the rum interacts with the wood, gaining complexity, depth, and rich flavors.
Blending: After the aging period, the rums from different barrels are carefully selected and blended by the master blender to achieve a consistent and premium product.
Bottling: The final rum is brought to the desired bottling strength and bottled for distribution.”
