How this product is made
Single Malts and Grain Whiskies: Ballantine’s 21 Year Old is a blend of carefully selected single malt and grain whiskies sourced from different distilleries across Scotland. The individual whiskies chosen for this blend have been aged for a minimum of 21 years in oak casks.
Aging and Maturation: After distillation, the single malts and grain whiskies are matured in oak casks, which were previously used to age bourbon and sherry. The extended maturation period allows the whiskies to develop their rich flavors and complexity.
Master Blending: The heart of Ballantine’s 21-Year-Old lies in the expertise of the Master Blender. This skilled individual artfully selects and blends specific whiskies to create a well-balanced and sophisticated final product. The aim is to achieve a harmonious marriage of flavors, where each component complements and enhances the others.
Bottling: Once the blending process is complete, the whisky is filtered and bottled at its optimal strength to preserve its distinctive character.
