Bacardi Limited has a rich history in the world of rum production. It was founded by Don Facundo Bacardí Massó in Santiago de Cuba, where he pioneered the process of filtering and refining rum, creating a smoother and more refined spirit. How this product is made

Sugarcane: The rum-making process starts with the cultivation and harvesting of sugarcane. Sugarcane is a key ingredient in rum production, as it provides the necessary sugars for fermentation.

Molasses: The harvested sugarcane is crushed to extract the juice, which is then boiled to produce molasses. Molasses is a byproduct of sugar production and serves as the base for many types of rum.

Fermentation: The molasses is combined with water and yeast to initiate fermentation. During fermentation, the yeast consumes the sugars in the molasses and converts them into alcohol, creating a liquid known as “”wash.””

Distillation: The wash is then distilled in large column stills, a process that separates the alcohol from the wash and refines the spirit. This distillation process allows Bacardi to produce a smooth and clean-tasting rum.

Aging: Bacardi White Rum is not aged for an extended period like some dark rums. Instead, it is filtered and sometimes aged for a short period in oak barrels to mellow the spirit and achieve a consistent flavor profile.

Filtration and Bottling: After distillation and, if applicable, brief aging, the rum is carefully filtered to remove any impurities and achieve a crystal-clear appearance. It is then bottled and labeled for distribution.
