Cigalus Rouge 2019 is a superb blend of 7 different grape varieties. Ripe black fruit aromas, grilled spices and oak are concentrated on the nose. The palate is opulent with soft tannins and black fruit flavours on a smoky background with hints of mint and garrigue. It’s powerful, perfectly balanced and lingering in the mouth.

Open Cigalus Rouge 1 or 2 hours before drinking with red or white meat or with aged cheese. Also delicious with grilled game meats.
About this bottle
Cigalus Rouge is made from a blend of grapes grown following biodynamic principles. The Cigalus Estate is Gérard Bertrand’s home, and was the first of his estates to implement biodynamics.
After hand picking the grapes are put into separate tanks, with the syrah and carignan vinified as whole bunches while the other varieties are destemmed. Aging of each variety takes place separately for a minimum of 1 year in new oak barrels.
The final blend, which varies from vintage to vintage, takes place just before bottling. The wine is then kept in bottles for a minimum of 1 year before marketing.
