Clase Azul Reposado 1.75L

This magnum format gives the same tequila considerably more presence on the table, and a hand-painted decanter this size represents more individual artisan work than the smaller sizes. Unlike most large format spirits, which are simply bigger versions of a standard glass bottle, every Clase Azul decanter regardless of size is an individually painted piece rather than a mass-produced vessel. For buyers in Kenya wanting a genuinely impressive gift or centrepiece bottle rather than just more volume, this magnum is one of the more striking large format spirits available at The Wine Box Kenya.
Tasting Notes
Gold in colour with bright yellow highlights, medium bodied in the glass. The nose opens woody and fruity, vanilla and toffee caramel leading, with a trace of candied orange peel and toasted oak underneath. On the palate, cooked agave carries through first, smooth rather than sharp, joined by more vanilla and toffee caramel that never tips into overwhelming sweetness. A light touch of cinnamon and hazelnut rounds out the mid-palate. The finish is long and warming, closing on soft oak spice with subtle mineral notes lingering underneath. This is a tequila built for slow sipping, layered enough to reward attention but never so intense that it demands it.
Serve Suggestions
This is a tequila for sipping slowly, and the magnum format makes it a natural centrepiece for a larger gathering. Neat at room temperature is the classic way to serve it, or over a single large ice cube if you’d prefer it slightly cooler without losing the layered vanilla and caramel character. It also works well in an Old Fashioned or Tequila Sour for guests who’d rather have it mixed. Dark chocolate, caramel desserts and roasted nuts all complement the sweetness in the glass. For a Nairobi celebration where the bottle itself is meant to be noticed, a milestone birthday or an anniversary, this magnum makes the moment feel deliberate rather than incidental.
What You Need to Know:
Is the tequila inside the magnum any different from the standard bottle?
No, it’s exactly the same reposado, 100% Blue Weber Agave aged 8 months in American oak at 40% ABV. Only the decanter size and the amount of hand-painting involved changes.
Why would I choose the magnum over the standard size?
It’s built for a bigger occasion, a large gathering or a milestone celebration where a bigger, more striking decanter on the table adds to the moment. It also means more of the tequila stays fresh across a longer event.
Is this good for sipping neat, or is it meant for cocktails?
It’s built primarily for neat sipping. The 40% ABV and layered vanilla, caramel and agave character reward slow, attentive drinking, though it also works well in an Old Fashioned or Tequila Sour if you’d rather mix it.
What can I do with the decanter once the tequila is finished?
The ceramic decanter is designed to be kept afterward as a piece in its own right, hand-painted with a cobalt blue feathered design that many collectors display or repurpose rather than discard.
What should I do if this bottle is out of stock?
Our customer service team can help you find a suitable alternative or source the product where possible. Reach out before your event.
Can I get the Clase Azul Reposado magnum delivered same day in Nairobi?
Nairobi orders placed before 9 PM qualify for same-day delivery, typically completed within a 1-hour window. Free delivery applies to orders above KES 3,000 within Nairobi. Orders outside Nairobi are delivered nationwide across Kenya within 24 to 48 hours.
Description
The same ultra-premium reposado that made luxury tequila a real category, now in a magnum-sized hand-painted decanter built for a bigger occasion. Order online in Nairobi through The Wine Box Kenya.
Everything that made the standard bottle a genuine category creator applies here too, just at a scale built for a bigger table. The agave still comes from Los Altos, where high altitude and iron rich red clay soil push extra sugar into the plant, and each piña still spends a minimum of 72 hours in a traditional stone oven before fermentation begins. Nothing about the recipe changes, only the size of the decanter it goes into.
That decanter is the real reason a magnum of Clase Azul stands apart. Each one is still individually hand-painted, part of the same artisan process used on every size in the range, which means a bottle this large represents considerably more time and craftsmanship per unit than the standard size. For a Nairobi buyer hosting something that calls for real presence on the table, a milestone celebration or a gathering where the bottle itself becomes part of the evening, this magnum format delivers that without changing anything about what’s actually in the glass.

About The Distillery
Arturo Lomelí founded Clase Azul in Guadalajara in 1997, when he was 23 years old and running a bar in the city. An earlier attempt at his own tequila brand had failed, and he went back to study marketing before returning to the spirit with a different approach, treating tequila with the same respect the French give Cognac or the Scots give single malt. The hand-painted ceramic decanter became the clearest expression of that idea, each one produced by artisans in the small town of Santa María Canchesda rather than mass manufactured. Nearly three decades later, Clase Azul México operates in more than 100 countries under the direction of Master Distiller Viridiana Tinoco, continuing Lomelí’s original focus on craftsmanship over volume. The range is available through The Wine Box Kenya in Nairobi.
