Tasting Notes
Deep garnet with mature clarity. The nose opens with blackcurrant, dark cherry and graphite, followed by notes of cedar, dried herbs and subtle earth. On the palate, the wine is firm yet composed — cassis, plum and mineral tones unfold across structured but well-integrated tannins. Acidity remains fresh, and the finish is long, savoury and unmistakably Saint-Estèphe, marked by stone and gentle spice.

Saint-Estèphe is known for producing some of Bordeaux’s most serious, long-lived wines, and the 2016 vintage is widely regarded as one of the appellation’s finest in recent decades.
L’Expression de Saint-Estèphe captures this reputation with confidence. It delivers structure, mineral depth and restraint rather than overt sweetness, making it an excellent example of classic Médoc character at a more accessible level. With time in bottle, the wine has softened beautifully while retaining its backbone and sense of place.
