About the Distillery
Finlandia Vodka is produced at the Koskenkorva Distillery in Finland. The distillery has a long history dating back to 1953 and is renowned for its commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
How this product is made
Finest Barley: Finlandia Vodka is made from the finest Finnish six-row barley, which is chosen for its high starch content and exceptional quality.
Milling and Mashing: The barley is milled to create a coarse powder known as grist. It is then mixed with hot water in a mash tun, converting the starches into fermentable sugars. The resulting liquid is known as “wort.”
Fermentation: The wort is fermented with yeast in fermentation tanks, where the sugars are converted into alcohol, creating a liquid called “wash.”
Continuous Distillation: The wash is distilled in a continuous distillation column to separate the alcohol from other components. This column distillation process allows for precise control over the quality and purity of the spirit.
Multiple Distillations: Finlandia Vodka undergoes multiple distillations to achieve the desired level of smoothness and purity.
Water Source: The vodka is blended with pure glacial spring water sourced from Finland’s Rajamäki region. This water is naturally filtered through glacial till, providing exceptional purity and taste.
Filtration: Finlandia Vodka is then filtered through charcoal to remove any impurities, resulting in a clean and smooth final product.
