Glenmorangie Nectar D’Or is a sumptuous and beautifully balanced single malt Scotch whisky that showcases the art of cask finishing. It is matured in traditional oak casks and then further enhanced by an extra maturation in specially selected Sauternes wine casks, resulting in a whisky of rich sweetness and refined complexity.

About the Distillery
Glenmorangie Distillery is located in the Scottish Highlands, near Tain. It has a history dating back to 1843 and is renowned for its commitment to quality and innovation in whisky-making.
How this product is made
Malted Barley: The whisky is made from malted barley, which is dried using Glenmorangie’s unique “Highland” process. This gentle method preserves the fruity and floral notes of the barley.
Mashing: The malted barley is ground into a coarse powder known as grist, which is then mixed with hot water in a mash tun. This process extracts the sugars from the barley, creating a sugary liquid known as “wort.”
Fermentation: The wort is fermented with yeast in tall copper wash stills. The tall stills allow for a lighter and more delicate spirit to be produced.
Distillation: The wash is distilled twice in Glenmorangie’s signature copper pot stills. This careful distillation process helps to preserve the delicate flavors of the spirit.
Maturation and Sauternes Cask Finish: After distillation, the whisky is aged in American oak ex-bourbon casks. Then, for the finishing process, a portion of the whisky is transferred to Sauternes wine casks from Bordeaux, France, for further maturation. The Sauternes casks impart their sweet, fruity, and dessert-like character to the whisky.”

The alcohol by volume (ABV) of Glenmorangie Nectar D’Or is typically around 46%, which is slightly higher than the standard 40% for many whiskies.
