Hayman Distillers is a family-owned distillery with roots dating back to the 19th century. The Hayman family has a long history in distilling and is dedicated to producing high-quality gins and spirits using traditional methods.
How this product is made
Botanicals: High-quality botanicals, including juniper berries, coriander, citrus peel, and other traditional gin botanicals, are used to flavor the spirit.
Maceration and Distillation: The botanicals are macerated in the base spirit to extract their flavors and aromas. The flavored liquid is then distilled to produce the gin.
Sweetening: Unlike London Dry Gin, Old Tom Gin typically undergoes a light sweetening process after distillation. This addition of a small amount of sugar or other sweetening agents contributes to the style’s slightly sweeter taste.
Aging (Optional): Some Old Tom Gins, including Hayman’s, may be aged in oak barrels for a short period to add complexity and roundness to the flavor.
