About the Distillery
Jägermeister was first introduced in 1935 by Curt Mast, a German businessman and the creator of the liqueur. The name “Jägermeister” translates to “Master Hunter” in German, which is reflected in the brand’s logo featuring a stag with a glowing cross between its antlers. The liqueur’s recipe has been a closely guarded secret for decades, with only a select few individuals knowing the exact combination of ingredients.
How this product is made
The precise recipe for Jägermeister is a well-kept secret, but it is known to include a blend of 56 different herbs, spices, fruits, and roots sourced from around the world. Some of the key ingredients may include anise, licorice, ginger, citrus peels, juniper berries, and various aromatic herbs.
The production process involves macerating the botanicals in alcohol to extract their flavors and properties.
