How this product is made
Sugarcane: The rum is made from the first pressing of sugarcane juice known as “”virgin honey,”” which results in a high-quality and flavorful base for the distillation.
Distillation: The virgin honey is distilled using both column stills and pot stills, a process that allows for greater control over flavor development.
Aging: One of the distinguishing features of Ron Zacapa Centenario is its unique aging process. The rum is aged in a combination of American white oak barrels, sherry casks, and other types of barrels. Additionally, the aging process takes place at high altitudes in the Guatemalan mountains, where the cooler climate and lower atmospheric pressure contribute to a slower maturation process. This slow aging allows the rum to develop deep and rich flavors over time.
Solera System: Ron Zacapa Centenario is aged using the Solera system, a method that involves blending rums of various ages to create a consistent and harmonious final product.
