How this product is made
Botanical Infusion: The base spirit used for the gin is typically made from high-quality grains. The gin is crafted using a combination of classic gin botanicals such as juniper berries, coriander seeds, citrus peels, and additional botanicals that the distillery chooses to impart a unique flavor profile.
Pinotage Wine Barrel Aging: The gin is then rested in oak barrels that previously held Pinotage wine, a renowned South African red wine grape variety. The aging process allows the gin to take on the beautiful reddish-purple hue from the wine-soaked wood and extract the wine’s characteristics.
Maturation Period: The gin rests in the barrels for a specific period to achieve the desired color and flavor profile. The time spent in the barrels allows the gin to integrate with the wine casks, resulting in a gin with a unique wine-infused character.
