About the Distillery
Tanqueray is a historic gin distillery that was established in London in 1830 by Charles Tanqueray. With a rich heritage and commitment to quality, Tanqueray has become one of the most respected and widely enjoyed gin brands in the world.
How this product is made
Botanicals: In addition to the standard botanicals used in Tanqueray’s London Dry Gin (juniper, coriander, angelica, and licorice), Tanqueray Rangpur incorporates the rare Rangpur lime. Despite its name, the Rangpur lime is not a true lime but a hybrid between a mandarin orange and a lemon.
Maceration and Distillation: The selected botanicals, including the Rangpur limes, are macerated (soaked) in a high-quality neutral spirit to extract their flavors and aromas. The macerated spirit is then distilled in traditional copper pot stills, creating a clean and smooth base spirit infused with the flavors of the botanicals.
Cut and Blending: During distillation, the distiller makes precise cuts to select the “heart” of the distillate, which is the best and most flavorful portion. The heart cut is then carefully blended with other distillates to achieve the desired flavor profile for Tanqueray Rangpur.
Alcohol Content and Bottling: The gin is typically diluted to the desired alcohol by volume (ABV) using pure water, and then it is carefully bottled and labeled for distribution.”
