Trumpeter Pinot Noir is a medium-bodied red wine giving notes of ripe raspberries and strawberries. Hints of smoke, tobacco and delicate floral aromas combined with soft tannins and vibrant acidity help create an elegant, smooth-drinking wine.

Food pairing
Particularly good with game meats, try Trumpeter Pinot Noir with duck or venison. It will also pair well with oily fish, for example salmon. The earthy tones complement dishes such as mushroom risotto or roasted beetroot, walnut and goats cheese salad.
About this bottle
This wine from Rutini Wines’ Trumpeter range is made from 100% pinot noir grapes. These grow on 20-year-old vines in Tupungato, Mendoza, at an altitude of 1,100 metres above sea level. Mendoza is undoubtedly Argentina’s premier wine growing region, where the high altitude and free draining soils stress the vines. As a result, the vines yield fewer but more intensely flavoured fruit.
After malolactic fermentation, part of the wine is matured in French oak for 6 months to impart subtle oak notes; this also helps to balance the acidity and soften the tannins resulting in a smooth sip.
