Deep ruby in color, Clos d’Ora Rouge opens with an ethereal bouquet of black cherry, violet, garrigue herbs, and finely layered spice and sandalwood. On the palate, it is velvety and powerful, with perfectly integrated tannins and complex notes of black plum, licorice, graphite, and cocoa, all wrapped in a silky, almost meditative texture. The finish is long, graceful, and mineral-laced, revealing both the wine’s nobility and aging potential.
A wine of depth and finesse, Clos d’Ora is best enjoyed with fine cuts of beef, venison, duck confit, or truffle-infused dishes. Decant before serving to allow its layered complexity to unfold fully.
Description
The Clos d’Ora Rouge 2020 is a powerful yet profoundly elegant wine born from the highest expression of Minervois terroir in the Languedoc. Created by Gérard Bertrand, one of France’s most visionary winemakers, this biodynamically farmed wine is produced from a sacred, walled vineyard cultivated with both spiritual reverence and sustainable precision. A blend of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Carignan, this cuvée represents a harmonious meeting of strength and serenity.

About the Winery
Clos d’Ora is Gérard Bertrand’s crown jewel. A secluded, 9-hectare vineyard surrounded by dry-stone walls in La Livinière, farmed entirely by horse and hand. Influenced by biodynamic principles and spiritual energy, the site produces wines of remarkable depth, balance, and identity. It is not just a vineyard, but a sanctuary — and the wine, a quiet revelation.
