About the Distillery
Cruxland Gin is produced by the KWV Distillery in Paarl, South Africa. KWV is a well-established and respected producer of wines and spirits in the country, known for its commitment to craftsmanship and innovation.
How this product is made
The key botanical that sets Cruxland Gin apart is the Kalahari truffle (Sclerocarya Birrea), also known as the Marula truffle. These rare and prized truffles are harvested from the Kalahari Desert, a region known for its unique flora and fauna. The use of Kalahari truffles in the gin adds an exotic, nutty, and earthy flavor that complements the traditional botanicals.
In addition to the Kalahari truffles, Cruxland Gin also includes a carefully selected array of other botanicals, such as juniper berries, citrus peels, and various indigenous herbs and spices. The exact recipe is a closely guarded secret, ensuring the gin’s distinctive character and flavor profile.
The production process involves traditional copper pot distillation, a method that allows the gin to develop its complex and rich flavors. The result is a gin that captures the essence of the Kalahari and reflects the unique terroir of the region.”
